Friday We begin our journey with the almost all new, Deadwood Revival. As she has been known to do, band leader Kimberly has stirred things up a bit. Now they are three gals and one (lucky) guy, playing more electric than acoustic. I doubt this will be Kim’s only appearance over the weekend. |
DEADWOOD REVIVAL |
| Next we ride with the perpetual motion of the Great American Taxi. This will be the 4th time these guys have driven us way into the night. I guess as long as we keep Vince’s fire going, they will be smokin’. |
GREAT AMERICAN TAXI |
Saturday At noon, we get going with a real fine quartet of lads, Head for the Hills. These guys, along with Taxi and the HiBeams, are from an ever-growing hotbed of music on the east side of the Rockies. I say, keep ‘em coming. |
HEAD FOR THE HILLS |
| Another region of growing interest is west North Carolina. From there, we will be visited by the singer/songwriter, Amanda Anne Platt and her band The Honeycutters. The first time I put their cd on, I was hooked. And I am still trying to figure out why. Maybe you can help me with that? |
HONEYCUTTERS |
| Into the night we go with Halden & the HiBeams. These guys came into camp last year virtually unknown. After playing for 3 hours without a break, they left being very known. Back by popular demand, they will do their best to wreck your life with country music |
HALDEN WOFFORD & THE HI-BEAMS |
Sunday I know that after Saturday night, noon can come a little too soon for some of you. Whether you walk or crawl, get back to the stage area because you will not want to miss Jackstraw. I’ll ask them to go easy at first, but it won’t be possible to hold this quintet back once they get started. |
JACKSTRAW |
| Coming from a little further north of Jackstraw is singer/songwriter, Zoe Muth. My first take out of the box was good, but not overwhelming. After awhile, I listened better and got the lyrics; now I can’t put her away. With the Lost High Rollers behind her, she will lead us into a night not to be missed. |
ZOE MUTH & LOST HIGH ROLLERS |
| After relentless requests, and years of trying, we have finally corralled the New Riders. It took some doin’, but I got ‘er done. And now I am most pleased and honored to bring here a band that is as much nostalgia as it is fresh energy and new music. Without a curfew, they’ve got free rein to play as long as you help them stay in the saddle. |
NEW RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE |
Monday For those of you that can endure another day of high adventure, we will have before us guys who cover some of the most influentialsounds of our time. Dylan couldn’t make it, but he will be well represented by the Ghosts of Electricity. In case you haven’t heard, they are: Stu Allen, Mookie Siegel, Mark Karan,Greg Anton, Robin Sylvester and Pat Nevins. |
GHOSTS OF ELECTRICITY |
| Keeping true to our founding purpose, we will end our trip with those sounds we hold so dear. While it’s not known at this time who all the players will be, in the spirit of Jerry, Stu Allen always delivers. |
